Welcome to the fresh new site! After years of relying on third-party software, I’ve now officially swapped standard WordPress and Coppermine for my own custom-built platforms. I built these entirely from scratch out of personal need, but kept fellow fansite creators and hobbyists in mind every step of the way.

First up is Lumora Press—a lightweight, self-hosted PHP blogging platform inspired by the elegance and simplicity of classic WordPress (think 2012–2015 era!). It’s all about writing, publishing, and customizing with classic themes, widgets, and plugins. No block editors, no page builders, no AI bloat—just simple, fast blogging. Since it’s an independent codebase built from scratch (not a fork), it runs super fast and stably on modern PHP and basic shared hosting.

On top of that classic WordPress goodness, I also added a few features to Lumora Press Core that I've been wishing WordPress had without needing a million plugins: virtual folders in the Media Manager (so you can finally organize hundreds of icons, wallpapers, and photos by subject with ease!), direct file importing from FTP and Downloads.

Then there’s Lumora Gallery, a dedicated media engine inspired by Coppermine Photo Gallery. It’s built to handle big visual collections, fan archives, and tons of photos without breaking a sweat.

Building both of these from the ground up gives me total freedom from modern web bloat and brings back the classic workflow that makes site-making fun again ❤️

The server problems the other day was identified as a DDoS attack, and my host seems to have resolved it some time yesterday night.

I just now finished switching the gallery from Coppermine to Lumora Gallery, which is my own creation. I wasn't entirely happy with Coppermine anymore, and ended up making a gallery with my own needs in mind and also one that is more mobile friendly than Coppermine. At least I think so, I hope you do too! Feedback is welcome.

Anyway, everything should be up and working now!

There's a problem on all of my sites: zip files have disappeared from the server. My host is looking into it. In the meanwhile, the FocusWriter theme and other zips will give an error while trying to download them.

It's been about 5 years since I shut my Xena site xenacentral.net down in February 2020! I had the site for something like 16 years, I think, in one form of another. I love the series as much as ever, and still follow Lucy Lawless’s career so whenever I see her in something new, I get the urge to watch some Xena again, and when I do that I want the site to exist. I needed to take a break, but now I'm feeling again like I can do a site after having had the temp gallery up for about a year but it not taking too much out of me, and it getting lots of traffic! So here we are, in nearly the same domain but a .com instead - so https://www.xenacentral.com is the new domain name!

So like I posted a while back on my main site So Obsessed, I found a great quality version of Xena: Warrior Princess and just can’t resist making caps! These are from an AI regraded, upconverted DVD->HD source. Without a true HD conversion made from the original film, I think this version is the best Xena is ever going to look, and it does look great! Much better than any of the DVDs I own.

The caps are aprox. 1440×1080 and I'm working my way through each season. I'm not sure whether there are Xena fansite around anymore - the ones I visited have disappeard and/or I've lost the URLs. And 'cause I’m not sure whether there’s enough quality Xena screencaps still around, or whether the sites that do have caps, have them from all the eps.

So ALL the Xena caps are new, from this AI Regraded HD source! All the photos and some of the HTLJ caps I will upload, are the ones that were up on the old site, but I'm also re-capping some of the HTLJ episodes with better specs. I'll try to remember to say which ones are new whenever I upload new screencaps!
